In addition, the following fault memory entries are saved in the CCU (Combined Charging Unit) 0317F2 - High-voltage system, insulation fault detected: when switch contactors are closed. 0317F1 - High-voltage system, insulation resistance below warning threshold: when switch contactors are closed. The fault memory entries (isolation faults) can occur both individually and in combination and must be traced back to the eDrive motor based on the ISTA test procedure. If ISTA test procedure lists possible cause of fault as; A metal chip is found behind the brush module (between the brush module and the end shield of the electrical machine). Repair required. - An interference noise (groaning noise) can be heard from within the heating and air-conditioning unit in thecenter of the instrument panel. The groaning noise always occurs when either a ventilation flap, air stratification flap or the recirculated airflap moves to a different position. Due to the complex design of the heating and air-conditioning unit, the kinematics causing it (top or bottom, left or right) may not be able to be precisely located. Depending on the vehicle model, the number of servomotors (and the associated kinematics unit) varies.Various models use either 2 or 3 servomotors.

- BMW AG has issued a Delivery Stop (effective February 9, 2023) on certain Model Year 2022 " 2023 BMW vehicles that were produced between June 29, 2022 and February 16, 2023. This was originally called "Wireless Charging Tray". Software in potentially affected vehicles may not recognize the removal of the digital key (Key Card or mobile phone) from the wireless charging tray, and thereby not meeting a federal requirement. On February 17, 2023 , the Delivery Stop was upgraded to a Non-Compliance Recall (see SI B84 01 23 ). SIB84 01 23 outlined a procedure for vehicles at that time which were- a) in BMW center inventory b) already delivered to customers This new SI B84 03 23 addresses vehicles which were in BMW center inventory or at the Vehicle Distribution Center (VDC) at that time. Those vehicles had the Key Card removed and were able to be retailed to the customer Such vehicles now need to return to the center to receive a new Key Card and updated programming. Please note that vehicles which were already in customer hands will be addressed by an update to SI B8401 23

- The purpose of this Service Bulletin (SIB) is informational regarding DC (direct current) charging complaints on Gen 5 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). It serves as a supporting argument and is intended to help distinguish between a standard designed function or component operation from an actual system fault in a DC charging customer complaint (i.e., "DC Not charging or "DC charging too slow". Helpful "Tips and Tricks" have been included on each topic within the document that can be used as reference to aid in the diagnosis or in understanding the system. The situation involves several possible causes: 1. Limitation of charging power by the charging station or charging app configuration. 2. Decreasing charging power at a very high state of charge (SoC). 3. Too frequent DC charging attempts within a short period of time. 4. The high-voltage battery is not at the ideal temperature. 5. Ageing of the high-voltage battery.
